Ivan Ilic was born in Belgrade (Serbia) in 1979, where he gave his first concerts with his own formations ”Havarija” and later “Free House”.

In 1999 he created the band “Solid” with several young talents of that time in Belgrade, with which he recorded the albums “Ta-ta-ta-tira” in 2000 and Jazz and Samba 2003. “Solid” attended the “Nishvile” Festival and “International Festival of Jazz and Blues – Sabac” where they won the award for the best young jazz band of Yugoslavia in 2002. He also has recorded albums for the band ”Calor de Cuba”.

In 2004 he moved to Barcelona and finished the studies of modern music and jazz in “L´aula de musica moderna i jazz del conservatori Liceu ” in 2006, when he also recorded two albums:” Chily, Claud with Slavich “and ”Dirty shoes and high heels” as a lider of a trio. From 2005 to 2017, he participated in the tour “Diversons” La Caixa and in the theater show “Musica de los Balcanes dentro de una maleta”. He recorded 2 albums for the singer Jordi Molto in 2008 and 2009. During that time he was also playing with “Shine” and Tal Ben Ari. With the trio he also recorded the album “Platonic” in 2011 and performed on “North city international Jazz and Blues Festival”, “Nishvile” and “Saulkrasti jazz festival”. Same year he was on the tour for French Institute with a singer Sophie Jalton. In 2013 with “Tetra Pack” he recorded album “Paranoic” and was on the tour in f Spain. In 2014 he was a residence musician in Gran Casino Barcelona performing with his Trio, “Kaleidoskop” and “Solid”. Next year he participated in the project “Balkan Reunion” of BGKO as a guest on the recording and the concerts. Same year he was on the tour in four European capitals presenting albums “Platonic” and “Paranoic”. In 2016 he recorded an album “Macedonian Songs” with Balkanaizer and “Od Ebra do Dunava” with Barcelona gipsy balkan orchestra. In year 2017 it records fourth album as an author with Tetra Pack, “Ready to go” (SatelliteK) presented on “Tortosa jazz festival”, “Festival de guitarra de Girona”, “Belgrade summer festival”, “Moscow international jazz festival”. In 2018 he participated as an arranger and instrumentalist on the album “Bwiza” by African singer Daniel Ngarukiye. Next year he recorded second album of project Balkanaizer, “Balkan blues” presenting material on the tours in Sweeden (“Folk at heart”) and South of Spain. In 2024 he recorded album “U turn” with Tetra Pack. The same year he finished Master studies of jazz guitar on FMU, Belgrade.

Currently he lives in Barcelona and works in several bands and as a music teacher.

Ivan Ilic nació en Belgrado (Serbia) en 1979, donde dio sus primeros conciertos con sus propias formaciones ”Havarija” y “Free House”.

En 1999 creó la banda “Solid” con los mejores jóvenes talentos de la época en Belgrado, con la que grabó los álbumes “Ta-ta-ta-tira” en 2000 y Jazz and Samba en 2003. “Solid” asistió al “Nishvile” Festival y “Festival Internacional de Jazz y Blues – Sabac” donde ganaron el premio de la mejor banda joven de jazz de Yugoslavia en 2002. También grabó disco para la banda “Calor de Cuba”.

En 2004 se traslada a Barcelona y finaliza los estudios de música moderna y jazz en “L´aula de musica moderna i jazz del conservatori Liceu” en 2006, cuando también graba dos discos: “Chily, Claud con Slavich” y ”Dirty shoes and high heels” como líder de un trío. Del 2005 al 2017 participó en la gira “Diversons” La Caixa y en el musical “Música de los Balcanes dentro de una maleta”. Grabó 2 discos para el cantante Jordi Moltó en 2008 y 2009. Durante ese tiempo también estuvo tocando con “Shine” y Tal Ben Ari. Con el trío también grabó el álbum “Platonic” en 2011 y actuó en el “Festival internacional de jazz y blues de North City”, “Nishvile” y el “Festival de jazz Saulkrasti”. El mismo año estuvo en la gira del Instituto Francés con la cantante Sophie Jalton. En 2013 con “Tetra Pack” grabó el disco “Paranoic” y estuvo de gira por España. En 2014 fue músico residente en el Gran Casino Barcelona actuando con su Trío, “Kaleidoskop” y “Solid”. El año que viene participó en el proyecto “Balkan Reunion” de BGKO como invitado en la grabación y los conciertos. El mismo año estuvo de gira por cuatro capitales europeas presentando los discos “Platonic” y “Paranoic”. En 2016 grabó un álbum “Macedonian Songs” con Balkanaizer y “Od Ebra do Dunava” con Barcelona gipsy balkan orchestra. En el año 2017 graba el cuarto disco como autor con Tetra Pack, “Ready to go” (SatelliteK) presentado en “Tortosa jazz festival”, “Festival de guitarra de Girona”, “Belgrade summer festival”, “Moscow international jazz festival” . En 2018 participó como arreglista e instrumentista en el disco “Bwiza” del cantante africano Daniel Ngarukiye. El año que viene graba el segundo disco del proyecto Balkanaizer, “Balkan blues” presentando material en las giras por Suecia (“Folk at heart”) y Sur de España. En 2024 grabó el disco “U turn” con Tetra Pack. El mismo año terminó sus estudios de Mastere de guitarra jazz en FMU, Belgrado.

Actualmente vive en Barcelona y trabaja en varias bandas y como profesor de música.
